Hi,

As the title says, I’m looking for a replacement engine under tray for my MK5 GTI, but I’m confused about the correct part number. See attached photo.

I believe the correct part number is 1K0825237J? However, I messaged this seller on eBay: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/VW-GOLF-MK5-AUDI-A3-ENGINE-UNDER-TRAY-BELLY-PAN-1K0825237J-2005-/143612000892?_trksid=p2349624.m46890.l49292
and they said this won’t fit my GTI as it’s for 1.4 and 1.6 engine. Is that correct? Because the part number seems the same as my current one.

I also came across this one: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/SEAT-ALTEA-Mk1-5P-2007-Undertray-2-0-TFSI-1K0825235AB-/254429160712?_trksid=p2349624.m46890.l49292, which has part number 1K0825235AB for SEAT ALTEA and the seller said it will fit my car.

So really confused. Someone please point me in the right direction.

Hi there

I've just replaced the original one on my 2005 GTI DSG (p/n 1K0 825 237 J) with an excellent second hand one (p/n 1K0 825 235 AB) and they are both identical.  Genuine ones will have the silver foil heat/oil protector on them - you can get pattern versions but they don't have this and if you are OEM-anal like me then only genuine will do... :smiley:

According to the parts lists 1K0825235AB is the correct number. It's the same part for all 1.4, 1.6 & 2.0 petrol engines.
