not sure if theyd even fit but theres some cheap as chips BBS CKs on ebay

Nice, but I think you would have problems with that ET!
-
20"x9.5" with a 35 offset :scared:
Rolled arches and a camber adjust may see it fit without issue, but 20" is more than a bit OTT for the MKV
It would ride like a rock too with 30 section tyres :surprised:
-
well i knew they wouldnt work but still a bargin atm. id be interested in these as my local BBS supplier would take them with a good PX against some 19's

Good idea! :happy2:
-
Yeah, good Out of the box thinking Joe :happy2:
-
seems odd that he spends nearly 2k on rims and checks after to see if they fit !
-
Does looks a little odd - and no reserve either.
-
Possibly bought them for another car - passat, but is passing it off as golf MKV fit
-
I think 20"s may look too big for the Golf!
-
He has basically found out they'd be a bitch to fit on a mk5.

i bet his mate is shill bidding for him :surprised:
-
too right!
-

i think i would only have them on for shows as i think driven hard would fook them
-
actually my 19" ck's looked like 18's so 20's would probably look like 19's so might not look as big as you think they would

its not so much the look for me, as 20's are always going to look big on a hot hatch, its the ride. id have to drive one with 20"s before i baught some.
-
LMs ALWAYS look smaller than they are tho
19s always looks like 18s.
and i would be sorely dissapointed if i bought 18" LMs!

Depends on the style a lot of flat face alloy look an inch bigger than they are.
-
....
Those BBS CK's look really nice and I think their design would suit your GTI better than the ones you've got now, Joe. BUT....the ride might be a bit harsh. Being the colour they are, you'd getaway with the 20" size I reckon but usually 20's would look OTT on a Mk5. (IMO)

i wouldn't do it personally

Its odd you say 19's look like 18's but the face of them are usually around 20" due to the lip.
Also 19's look like 18's until you see them side by side - depending on wheel style.
I wouldnt go more than a 19" rim on the Mk5

I did something similar with the BBS LMs :ashamed: :embarrassed: Bought them on ebay for £1270 and then was told by forum members that they wouldn't fit. Still honoured the sale though and sold them to an Audi TT fanatic in Finland for £1500

Rather spend your monies on something like this:

I couldn't agree more - Those in the first pic are really bling! The rest, except perhaps the 'gold' ones, are very tasteful and the black R32 (without numberplate) looks particularly mean.
