Title: Brake vacuum hose
Post by: Danjk on January 22, 2021, 03:50:17 pm
Hi guys,

Had some very soft brakes lately and when investigating I found it to be a cracked vacuum hose. I was having some trouble getting it off and pulled so hard it snapped something it was attached to that I cant see from above the engine.
The part number for the bit that broke is:
1 KO 612 071 D

Can anyone tell me what it is that Ive broken, or a part number and is it engine out to replace?  :sad1:

Heres some photos:

Missing pics but sounds like you just need a new one of the part number you quoted.  That's a common piece to fail.  I think it's around £40, and you'll need a little green blanking plug for the little spout.

Hi,

thanks for that! Do you know what the green blanking plug is or what I should try googling?
I have amended the pics,
Thanks man!

It looks like you broke this piece from the vacuum pump. It comes with the pump and cannot be found separately; https://c1552172.ssl.cf0.rackcdn.com/452615_x800.webp

Put some tape around it and save yourself £40..  that's what I did and hasn't moved in 4 years.
