Title: Cut out under passenger seat

Hi guys does anyone know what this cut out is for? I have a 56 plate gti. Its a standard car I.e no leather / heated seats, no satnav either.

That's just where the wiring from you seats connects into - airbags, heated seats etc.  The cutout is there so you can disconnect them before removing the seat.
