They are GTI brakes essentially.... are you after an upgrade?
-
I've got some Mk7r brakes to go on at somepoint, just noticed that these ones have a 57mm piston so would be better than the standard brakes, they have 51mm a piston?
-
just be careful as at that price you will have to pay custom duties seeing it's coming from a German seller.
-
So that works out to around £230 I think if the charges are applied.
Are the standard brakes 51 or 53mm piston?
-
I thought it was 54mm diameter as standard with 57mm for the R32 calipers and 60mm on the mqb platform R / S3.
-
Ok cheers.
So I guess these are a kind of halfway house between the standard brakes & S3/R32s?
-
The 7R brakes are the ones to buy. Every bit as powerful as the R32 setup but a good bit lighter. I didn't measure the piston on mine when fitting them but I'm sure they are 60mm diameter. They provide all the braking power you'll ever need for fast road use (you'd want better again for track use) and the difference over stock brakes is massive.
-
Yeah I've got some 7r's to put on mine I was just wondering about those I linked to.

GTI PP/Cupra R/7.5R/8V S3 calipers + Carriers + pads with appropriate clip-in emblem plate.
Clubsport S 340mm 2 piece discs.
Good value. Ample stopping power. OEM Wheels fit over them. The end.
Leave all the 50pot calipers, Aston Martin Lamborghini Bentley sh1t to the scene queens. Simply not needed on a FWD Golf.
