Hi everyone, recently bought a mk5 gti that came with a Pioneer stereo. 'It just needs a wiring harness' the seller told me, but yes you guessed it he was having me on and the unit has had it (has been bench tested to confirm). I really don't have £400 to replace it so was looking for advice on whether I can get a cheaper/second hand unit that will do the job. I have all the wiring in place for dab, microphone etc. and the main features I'm looking for are;
Dab
Sat nav/maps
Something for music like Spotify
Ability to fit reverse camera would be a bonus also
Any suggestions for something around £200-£250? Have been looking at the rns510 but not sure which I should be going for as there are different versions? How do I know if it's a later model...also read story's of possible battery drain with these and maybe needing extra coding?

Sorry mate got no advice there. If you do decide you just want a stock stereo though and you are not too far from Bristol I've got one taking up space in the garage.

All depends on what year your car is with battery drain and the module needs updating..Stereo choice now is huge choice to the android units which will have what you want..The rns510 goes on the last letter for the latest ones or the rns330 plus is a good choice

I have had one in my car for 6 months and it is great, my pal got one too and also loves it. I have Waze running on it and it brings my car right up to 2020 tech. I think you can fit a mk6 reverse camera boot handle too (not done so but should be possible)
If you gti in older than 07 you need to replace your gateway to this one https://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=m570.l1313&_nkw=7N0+907+530+gateway+&_sacat=0 and get it coded.
