Title: Puddle light

I wonder if anyone has come across this before? The passenger puddle light functions as it should both when the mirror is open and folded. The drivers side only operates when the mirror is open. The light goes off as the mirror starts to fold and comes back on as it reaches the open position.
I’ve checked continuity on the wire and it seems all ok, I have run a second wire in case there was a break but the error remains. Any ideas at all?

Have you tried changing the bulb?

To be honest I haven’t as the bulb works in the out position just not when closed
Willing to give it a go but puzzled by the fact it does work in one position and not the other

Changed the bulbs today and still the same issue. Any further thoughts to a solution?

Such a weird issue. I would suggest getting the car scanned with VCDS to see if any error codes come up
