Title: Cold air intake/induction kit options.. revo or ram air?
Post by: Monzoa on March 13, 2021, 12:30:35 am
Been struggling with this one for a while..

Is there any benefit to spending the extra £100+ on a revo intake?

I was just going to buy a ram air oversized but heard a lot of people stating that it sounds like a kettle and that Revo or EVOMS is the way to go so just wanted to find out what everyone on here uses/ thinks is the best option not just performance wise but also for the noise.. lol. Mainly the noise if I’m being completely honest.

Thanks in advance!

I was the same didn't know which intake to go for. I went with the majority at the time and got a Ram air Oversized induction kit which have been on the car nearly 5 years with a rtech stage 2 map & it sounded really good, only thing was the old foam filter got dirty so I changed it for the new better quality Pro Ram velocity stack filter made by Ram air that replaces the old foam filter and it sounds nuts lol. Since it's been out couple years I'm seeing loads of guys with Revo induction kit running with the new Pro Ram filter. Ram air now sell the Oversized induction with Pro Ram velocity stack filter as a new version kit now so I'd recommend buying that one if you choose to get Ram air.

Awesome mate thank you.
Think I’ll probably go down the Ram air route and use the change to get a Rev G and pcv as I think they’re both due a replacement.
Hadn’t looked into the pro ram filters at all but after reading some reviews etc doesn’t make sense to pay the extra £80 for Revo in my situation.

Many thanks

I had the Revo intake, and also the VWR kit.  Hated both and went back to the standard setup.  A lot of people do, especially if it's a daily

The Revo is a million times better made than the VWR peice of schitt though, so whilst considerably noisier, I would pick the Revo from those two, if you really must
