Hi all,
Going to replace the thermostats on my 2008 dsg gti as it never gets up to temp unless sat in traffic. Has anyone got the correct part number for the main thermostat and inline thermostat (read 2008 dsg models only have one inline?)
Cheers

Have a look on AKS tuning, it lists both the BWA and the K04 engine cars stats.

Thank you mate will order from them seems a reasonable price.
Has anyone got the part number for the inline stat?
Also looking for a guide on how to fit the main thermostat if possible, cheers

Thanks again.
How long are people's thermostats taking to get up to 90? Mine takes a good half hour but only seems to get to about 85, unless sitting in traffic where it will hit 90. Trying to work out if I need to replace both stats or if I could get away with trying just the inline stat first as this is much easier to do rather than the main one which is meant to be a pig of a job.

Mines up to temp in around 3 miles, no harm trying the easiest option first but I would be surprised if it made any difference, it always seems to be the main thermostat that fails.

Cheers Octo have ordered both and booked a mobile mechanic to fit next week.
Hopefully this is my final question but do you know if it's ok to use G13 coolant that isn't the 'official' VW one. e.g on eBay Mannol is £10.99 for 3l but the VW one is £33. Thanks

Yes I'm sure Mannol will be fine, I'm sure VW don't make their own coolant so it's just some 3rd party coolant marked up by VW.
