Hi All,
Trying to replace the drivers seatbelt in my 2008 GTI before the NCT here in Ireland (MOT) as there is frayed and cuts in it from previous owner.
It seems to be a little more tricky than I originally thought and im frantically looking for some advice on how to do it myself. a clear step by step or video would be hugely appreciated!! Im just weary about pulling on different bits of trim waiting for the dreaded SNAP rather than a POP!!
Thanks in advance all! :happy2: :happy2: :happy2:

Was the PO Edward Scissor Hands?
try this one for a Mk6 (Mk5 in drag):

haha! maybe that explains the seatbelt!!
Thanks for video, it helps but only issue im having is my car is 3 door so there's no easy access using the rear door, it looks like I've to take paneling off!

I suspect you wont need to remove the rear side panel entirely - it unclips down the B pillar/ rear edge of door and there is a separate panel at the lower level that should get you to where you need to be.
You may or may not need to take out the rear seat base to re-align the lower panels back correctly.
