whats the pros and cons of this ?
where does it fit and what does it cost ?
-
i saw on the american forum, that the price range is 70-100USD.
Pros:
might solve the dip many have above 5k rpm, i for one has ordered one
Cons:?
System isn't up for the extra pressure???
-
Pro's
It enables the rail to meet requested in the remap. REVO specifies 132.5bar and the stock system tends to run short of this
The low pressure "in-tank" pump pressure doesn't fall as much as when the OEM valve is used
Con's
Need to take off the manifold to fit unless you haz pixie fingers with double jointing.

so in reality no cons then? :happy2:

My mechanic installed it without taking out the manifold but he has pixie fingers and also had to "improvise" a key to fit there !
-
Seems to lower the LPFP duty cycle % too which on anything larger than a K04 is only a good thing! Well worth doing if the inlet manifold is off..

i hope it might help me with this dip:

Bl00dy hell Danish, that ain't no dip that's a black hole :surprised:
-
what is this, is it the low pressure fuel sender. if it is i had it rplaced on mine under warrantee, and was a pain in the ass to do.
is his likely to fix these dips or is it just another mod that miht fix it??

Any logs for me?
Looks like either fuel cut, timing pull or even the dreaded onset of compression surge, but as for the cure, that's a different matter!
You are on a stock GTI block from what I remember and so the compression ratio will be 10.25:1 rather than the 9.8:1 of the ED30 block. This may also account for the bigger dip as some ED30/Cupra/S3 guys get this dip, but to a lesser extent. I'm sure you can get gasket sets to reduce the compression ratio by a few points, which may help if that is what it is and it would be less expensive than just opting for lower compression pistons to try and get rid of it. There are tuning options, but I'm assuming that you are already covering that side of things.
HTH :happy2:
-
I'm on the standard GTI block higher compression with a KO4 and not experiencing the flat spot at all
-
did you here what happened to harrys vRS mickey.
-
Yeah, but to be honest i think he was just unlucky, i've done 15k since mine is done and i think sibart has done huge mileage on his with no probs. On the USA forum no reports of ring problems either..
-
What happened to the vrs you're talkin' about ? Anything related to the press reg valve ?
-
As far as i know a piston ring broke and then scored the bore which required engine replacement.. he would have been running OEM valve not related.
-
Ah, I understand. I've heard of a similar problem around here with a 100% stock ED30. I was just curious why this failure was brought into discussion in this topic and thought it had something to do with the RS4 press reg valve !
