What brake disc size should I go for on my 2008 MK5 GTI? Just an everyday runabout with a few subtle mods such as cold air intake, GSF recommend 288mm on the front and 255 rear? Does this sound about right? Going for the Brembo’s BTW.
Cheers!

Those may fit but they're not the size the gti is meant to use. It's 312 up front and the rear from memory is around 282 I believe? And yeah the brembo discs are very good quality.
The smaller discs will mean reduced braking performance.

Just gathering parts to do this myself actually. 312mm up front and yeah, 280ish at the back. I went with the ATE discs & pads from ECP, since that is the same brand as the calipers. And 2 cans of Bosch ENV6 brake fluid for a full flush

312mm front
282 or 286mm rear. You can use either.

What thickness are they? You might get away with them

They won’t fit too thick. GTI discs are around 12mm
