Title: What would you do?
Post by: blingsta on June 25, 2021, 11:17:59 pm
Guys...  ive got a P3 vent gauge that I've been using and I've now also got an android head unit with the torque app on there !!!  Trouble is....  the P3 gauge and the torque app both need to be plugged in to the OBD Port !
What shall I do?  Shall I sell the P3 gauge and just use torque, or do o get a OBD splitter and run them both?

If the P3 does what it needs to, I'd stick with that personally.  It's certainly neater than a phone clipped to your dash/screen

I would definitely have agreed with you on that mate, but it's not my phone that I'm using... the torque app is running on my android head unit , so it looks pretty neat on the head unit display too

Ah sorry, I missed the Android head unit bit

Probably an OBD2 splitter then if you want to run both.

If it were me, I would find the P3 a bit easier to read but it depends what the interface looks like on your head unit, and how quick/accurate it is.  It's one reason why I sold my RNS510 as I wasn't keen on looking down at the screen.  Anything that's at eye level, or close to it, is better when driving fast!

You could try an ODB splitter but in my experience some devices don't play nice together, for example I have a P3 gauge & I used a splitter to add a blue tooth dongle for logging. The dongle would only work by itself! Doh!
