Title: Clutch pedal rises and falls, bite point changes

Hi,

Just bought a clean late 05 GTi. Full VW Service book and one owner. Just over 100K on the clock.

However, once I've been driving for a few miles the clutch pedal rises slightly on acceleration, and falls on deceleration. The bite point also changes slightly - it bites lower to the floor.

Is this likely to be the hydraulic clutch needing bleeding, or changing the clutch or even a gearbox fault?

This is my first MK5, but had lots of MK4's - not sure how similar they are.

Any help appreciated.
