Hi
Newbie here and some advice appreciated please! I’ve just had a new exhaust fitted to my car (at Euromaster) and can now hear a whistling noise when I accelerate. The garage say it’s turbo whistle, but I’ve never heard it before. Should I take the car back and ask them to look at the exhaust again? Thanks.

It's normal.

How much did you pay for the exhaust? I thought you couldn't buy an exhaust for a gti anymore especially from ats. Only custom stainless steel now?
-
It was £750 for the whole exhaust. The vw dealer quoted 2k!
Your Golf is very pretty!

Wow that's expensive! I was looking to replace mine with a oem one as don't fancy a loud stainless one but thats a lot.
Thanks for comment on my golf. That was after a full day's cleaning. Doesn't always look like that lol 😆

Which ats was it, in Pensby wirral by chance?

If it was a like for like replacement and not a sports exhaust, there shouldn’t be any additional turbo noise. Either the cats are rubbish or there’s a slight leak at the turbo flange. Any exhaust smells inside the car when idling?

If it was the silver 08, looked tidy
