A few days ago I was driving my car and noticed it was a little difficult to put into first gear. I shrugged it off thought it was no big deal till I was driving it the other night and it seemed to be going into wrong gears and wanting to stall. When I stopped there was no hope in getting it to move again. Towed it back to my house where I started looking into it. I originally thought I might have had a shifter cable snap. Looking more into it today I think a clamp must have just broken off I got no idea where to find the right clip, if there even is a clip, what it’s called, or if there’s more to the problem here. I added a picture any help is appreciated.

@Cosmos (https://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/index.php?action=profile;u=19906) thank you it appears the clip is the same that goes on the cable ends? Not sure how that would work though. Maybe I’m missing another part?

I believe it is missing a bushing and a clip.
Early in this vid, he shows removal of the bushing after the clip is removed;

I believe it is missing a bushing and a clip. If you go here and scroll down to *Kit Contents*...each item is shown separately. You can select any of those to be directed to the individual items.

Thank you I see that is also missing a bushing. However the link you sent is for the shifter on the inside of the car. Still searching for the bushing and clip online but can only find the ones for the cable ends.
