Title: Petrol in oil HELP!!!
Post by: Markis236 on August 30, 2021, 05:38:37 pm
Hi all been a while since iv last posted on the forum but need some help here. I recently purchased (4 months ago) a mk7.5 golf r and have noticed the oil lever seems to be rising but with a distinct smell of petrol and I don’t know where is coming from ! Spoke to a few friends and they said it could be coming from the hpfp and leaking down in to the head or a sticky injector. I thought the hpfp might have a bad oring letting petrol seep through but I can’t seem to find a repair kit. Can any one else throw some segments my way to check

Cracked / perished hpfp rubber seals are certainly a known issue on the Mk5 (ask me how I know…) and require a new pump since spare parts aren’t sold separately. I don’t know if this is also an issue on your much more recent 7.5 but would also have the injectors checked. Good luck!

I would get a new HPFP on there asap.  Excessive amounts of petrol in the oil can cause a lot of damage if run like that for a long time.

It's a lot more common on the EA888 engines.
