Title: 07 mk5 heating only working on passenger side not drivers... help
Post by: T777_GTI on September 25, 2021, 08:55:47 pm
Hi,

My 2007 gti only seems to have heat coming out of the left side and not the drivers side.

Even the climate control for the drivers side doesn't blow hot or cold, just regular air where as the passenger side works.

Any idea what this is?

Thanks

It's usually the flap actuator.  I recently fixed that on a friend's Skoda Octavia, but it was the passenger side on his.  £50 part and not too much faff.

It will be fault coded in the HVAC module, so confirm that first before dusting off the wallet.

I suspected this. I only have a obd Bluetooth scanner from amazon. Not sure I can access that menu with it. I use the torque Pro app. Is there a better app with more options I could use to see. Otherwise I may just have to buy the part. It's quite cheap on auto doc.

OBD eleven, but you have to pay more for a dongle, well worth it.
