Hi guys.
So, if my DSG is running Rtech software, where is this software stored? Reason for asking is i may be swapping the box out soon for an identical KNB unit. Will i lose the existing map or is it stored elsewhere?
Cheers :happy2:

My understanding is the mechatronic unit is the ECU and this is internal to the gearbox:

Unless the box has an obvious mechanical fail - it could be the mechatronic unit that is faulty

Yup, the DSG software is stored in the DSG ECU. So long as you refit your existing DSG controller to the replacement box, you won't lose the map.

Cheers fellas!
Unfortunatley i'm changing the box partly because the mech has issues. Due at Rtech anyway over the next few weeks so i'll have to have the software reinstalled. Best drive steady with 410lbft on stock dsg software :scared:
I suppose i could just transfer the mech unit from the newer box to mine, but i suspect i have possible clutch pack issues anyway.

Yeah they might get a bit chargrilled with that much torque! I think you can load a tamer engine map, or put it in Stock Mode with the R-tech switchable maps though?

Nice idea pudding, although i don't have the switchable map option. Just have to tickle it down i think. Suppose i could get them to chuck the box on for me instead.
