Hi all,
New to the forum. Recently got a 2008 GTI and noticed a rattling sound from the back inside while driving over minor bumps, gravel etc. Have taken it to a couple of garages with no luck. Any one else had similar problems?
thanks

When I first got my GTI I had a rattle in the rear. Turned out to be one of the split fold rear seats was not clamped properly.

I take it you mean they werent puished in properly!!! They look fine in mine.

Did the garages check on a 2 or 4 post lift? - If something is loose in the suspension it is more likely to show up on a 4 post with all the weight is on the wheels.
Try the obvious ones that evaporate over time:
Bottle cap washers holding heat shields on
Rear disc stone guards

The rattling sound is happening from the inside though. I have no idea regarding the lift.

If it sounds like it’s inside the car I’d be looking at the rear shock top mounts or possibly anti rollbar links. As said by @LC5F (https://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/index.php?action=profile;u=49808) its easier to check on a 4 poster or over a pit.

Hi,
The last garage said the rear suspensions bushes wearing perishing.
