Like a few of you out there,
I was getting the faint chirrup sound at cold idle on my ED30, which many suggest was the cam follower/aux belt.
Anyway, booked my car in, and my dealer swapped out the cambelt itself, so either
a) its still going to make the same noise this morning when I go to work, or
b) mine was different and they've fixed it.
Either way, its saved me a few hundred quid that it was going to cost next year when the car will be 4 years old!
They also replaced a leaky rear light cluster.
So all thats left is the drivers side speakers which work intermittently (must be a loose connection), and we're all sorted!

Well at least you won't have to replace the cambelt next year. Did the new cambelt sort the problem out?

No more squeak! Hurrah!
One question I do have - there are other 'bits' that you generally get done at cambelt change time, like the water pump.
Do I need to get that done next year? Anything else?

Hmm, it is said that if the water pump isn't changed at the same time as the cambelt then it tends to fail prematurely. :scared:
Changing the pump alone will incur about the same labour time as the cambelt.

which stealers u go 2? i just had my cambelt n kit changed under warranty and i got them 2 do the waterpump while he had the cambelt and everything off n was meant 2 be bout £45 but never charged me 4 it wen i picked the car up!!
