Title: Winter settings
Post by: ldubl on December 31, 2021, 12:03:48 pm
Finding a bit more torque steer on wet roads now the Michelin Cross Climates are on

Mk5 gti k03 only performance mod is intake, so using B6 T5 F9 on SPS (Revo stage 1)

Was thinking about reducing boost to 4 or 5 whilst a bit more slippery and less sticky tyres (appreciate needs more throttle sensitivity to drive to the conditions etc)

Has anyone done this?

Does anyone know whether to leave the T & F settings as they are, with a lower boost setting?

Thank you!

Best to just have a play with it.

B1 is stock boost and also 'stock like boost control', so won't kick in as aggressively as the performance settings, which might help with traction/torque steer.

B2 - B9 are just tiny increments in boost pressure (and onset aggression) up to stage 1's maximum, which is 1.35 bar iirc.

Or you could just stick the SPS in 'Stock Mode'.

Yeah T&F are fine as they are.

No worries.

When I used to run my steel winter wheels (205/55/16), I also had the same problem.  Soft tyres tend to move around a bit under acceleration.  The ride comfort was amazing compared to 18s though
