Title: Cold air from HVAC when turning corners
Post by: pudding on January 07, 2022, 09:40:22 am
Bit of an odd one and have only noticed it this winter.

Heater on 'HI' blowing on the screen, fan speed 3.
Windows rolled up.
Nice and hot driving in a straight line, but when going round corners, I can feel a blast of cold air coming in from somewhere.
Straighten up again, the heat returns.

Anyone else experienced this?

EDIT: Seems I'm not alone on this    https://www.vwaudiforum.co.uk/forum/archive/index.php/t-110646.html

Yep certainly notice it in the winter time. Same in my volvo daily too, as if the cold air moves around as you go round a corner lol. I wouldn't worry about it, but its odd isnt it !

I think it's the hold/cold blend door swinging around when cornering!  I do get some weird clunking from the HVAC area when turning on the ignition, which sounds to me like the classic VAG stripped plastic gear syndrome.

Not enough of an issue to justify pulling the HVAC apart!

“Yeah they all do that sir”

It’s been mentioned before if you have a dig around about 15 years ago  :signLOL:
