Title: oversized induction kit.
Post by: GTIwilko on January 10, 2022, 05:51:23 pm
hi guys, first post in the group. read a lot of threads and there seems to be a lot of information out there on which has been very useful!

I was thinking of going stage 1 with my mk5 GTI and was going to order a an oversized RAM AIR INDUCTION KIT as well. if I fitted this prior to the stage 1 map would this effect the MAFs reading of the airflow to the engine and cause any warning lights or problems Because of on increase in air flow?

Won’t cause any problems/warning lights

Is there any value to the oversized intake (a) at Stage 1 and (b) beyond over the normal size offering from Ramair?

No.  A little 2L 4 pot with a standard turbo can only draw in so much air.

The HP fuel pump will restrict power more than the air box.
