Hello,
I’m new to this forum, and hoping someone has had the same problem as me.
So I have an MK5 from 2006. All the “functions” on the driver side sideview dont seem to be working. No heating, no blinker, and no adjustments can be made. I checked te wires from the door to the interior, pulled back the rubber and i don’t seem to be damaged. I also removed the door pannel and measured the cabels with a multimeter. They seem to be fine. What was also weird that the multimeter gave 0,7 volts on the 2 wires going to the heated mirror. Could this be a faulty module (the one the window motor is attached to?) Any ideas how I can diagnose further?
Thanks in advance.

Any fault codes with a scanner? I could be wrong, but do some of the mirror functions go through the door controller? If that is faulty, it might explain it.

Thank you pudding for your answer.
So I went out and bought the HEX-V2 scan tool.
I have got an error code on 42-Door Elect. Driver
Address 42: Door Elect, Driver Labels: 1K0-959-701-MAX3.clb
Control Module Part Number: 1K0 959 701 N HW: 1K0 959 701 N
Component and/or Version: Tuer-SG 005 0961
Software Coding: 0000052
Work Shop Code: WSC 00046 412 303104
VCID: 392F2FCDA5568143A0F-806C
1 Fault Found:
01811 - Supply Voltage for Door Controller; Drivers Side (J386)
002 -- Lower Limit Exceeded
Is this a module that maybe frequently fails? If I can't find anything else, I'll go ahead and install a new one and post the results on this post.
Thanks

That's just saying its not receiving the expected voltage - so hold off sourcing a replacement.
Broken wires in the rubber boot near the hinges are a common issue - have you checked these? - there is a nack to unclipping the boot, there is a latch at the top.
Also some people report unclipping the loom connecter under the boot and giving it a good squirt of contact cleaner can solve door issues.

Thanks for the help. When I was tugging the wires to spray them with contact cleaner, the thin red/yellow wire snapped. This was the problem after all. Missed that one with the multimeter I gues. Made a DIY repair, everything working fine now.
