I have no idea as I cannot see but as these were replaced by a dealership and to say I am unhappy is a complete understatement!!!!!!

Hopefully the dealer will replace. If not, I found the Lothian ones listed on eBay to be a good colour match (metallic black) and easy to fit.

Keep in mind lothian are running way behind. Ordered a painted door mirror cover 2 weeks ago and still waiting. They have said the paint shop are short staffed and running way behind.

I've heard mixed things with Lothian wings. Some love them, others have said the colour is a little off and the fit not great.
I trawled eBay for a few months and bought two rust free wings in very good condition with no rust. I had my bodyshop treat the inside, remove the foam pads and fit them. The paint is indistinguisable from the original car.

The one I had done in 2015 under warranty is starting to show tiny bubbles.
As much as I'd like to keep the old jallopy going forever, it's just not going to happen because of rust. The wings are only 25% of the story.

My drivers side wing has a small bubble in and I've left it. End of the day it's just a car not a small child and it's gonna rust and wear out eventually. Run it, drive it and enjoy it I say. Not I to shelling out £1000s on a 3k car. I'm looking to get a mk6 gti soon so rather upgrade than spend endless amounts on a 16 year old car.
-
Agreed, although I do patch ups rather than leaving it. I just find blue smoke and rust embarrassing and at that point, the car goes to the junkyard, or traded in/WBAC'd.
Make sure you get as late a MK6 as possible, otherwise you'll have timing chains to deal with. Apart from early EA888 chain stretch, the rest of the car is way better made than the MK5.
