Hello guys!
As the title says, I want to remove the engine cover for my car but it has a small pipe that goes into the cover which has vacuum, does anyone know what this is?
I guess I cannot just remove the cover and leave that pipe as hanging.
See below for reference:
(not my car but it is the same)

I have also seen this which hasn't got the cover removed but it has a small air filter which I guess is for what I am talking about?

The second image suggests its an engine breather - your not meant to vent straight to atmosphere, so they correctly added a small filter - but if you are keeping the airbox you may as well keep it connected to suck out crankcase gasses - or put a catch can in between.

I have a forge intake so no airbox, can I run it with a small filter or would it be better if I added a T pipe connector and run it to the stock catch can?

If it's an intake designed for your engine I would ask forge what to do with it.

it is an intake for my engine but I dont think it has anything to do with that engine breather I am talking about, that is designed to hold vacuum pressure inside a box in the engine cover, it might be for the engine flaps

You've already been told it's for the crank case vent. If there is no provision to connect it to your aftermarket intake, it's down to you to overcome that issue.

Thanks, I will see what I can do
