Title: Confused beyond confused… Advice please!
Post by: BirchyB0y on February 09, 2022, 02:21:09 pm
I’ve been talking to a couple of wrapping companies in order to have the stereo, heater controls, DSG, light switch and air vent surrounds wrapped as they are looking tired and used.

They say it can’t be done due to the soft touch finish, YET.. I see on the forum plenty of us have had these items wrapped in varying finishes.

Am I missing something here, what can I do if anything to the trim pieces in order to get them wrapped or, does someone know a wrapping company Hampshire/Berkshire are that can do the work please?

Thank you 🙏🏻 😊

From my experience vinyl wrapping a foosball table...  anything can be wrapped if you prep it properly and have enough patience (and a hair drier, craft knife, vinyl etc etc...).

But... like Pudding says... just prep, paint.  So much easier.
Or even easier.... see how much new trim costs and just buy new bits.

I had some Audi interior parts aqua dipped and they looked really good.
Surface did have to be smooth for correct application though, probably not suitable for soft to the touch surfaces.

Seem to recall the soft grip can be removed with paint thinners taking you back to a firm/stable surface
