wanting some power gains and intake noise what are these like for noise?
ive had BMC CDAs on previous car and they sound awesome
cheers guys
-
you will get minimal gain in power and noise level using that intake!
IMO all the gains are due to the better panel filter that's used with the carbon intake.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
exactly.
What is your budget, let u sknow how much you have/want to spend, and we'll sure as hell point you at the best option for you(in our own opinion o course)
you say you want sound and gains, then its simpl, you need an induction kit
-
dont really want to spend alot, just want some noise
ive been there done that with my mk4,i know the feeling once i start i dont stop :signLOL:
you know its just a set of wheels,5 sets later
just some new seats, different bumpers, need lowering etc etc
£££££££££££££ later

what is your budget. the carbon intakes cost a wedge for pretty much hardly ay return. iirc dubtek ive recently read on here that dubtek does the BSH intake for £150. thats very good value, considering you will get some good gains and the noise
-
^^ Correct :happy2:
I have one, great for the price, but it is quiet so if your after noise you will be disapointed...

We have a full induction kit (cai) in our clearance bin. Comes with silicon hese and replaces everyting from the turbo to the cold air feed with an aluminium 2.75" mandrel bent intake tube. We had it in for testing on a car and has seen around 3 hours of dyno use.
Sounds very very nice (if you liked the sound of the BMC) and will cost you just £60 + delivery. Showed a gain of 12bhp on a Revo stage 1 200hp TFSi Golf GTi
I am on 07917 166707 if anyone wants it :happy2:

any pics mate?what make is it?
-
OP-So the Bmc was a good choice on ur experience?
Just noise or gains in power too?
it was recommended to me by guy who mapped my car and I like the look of it
thanks

The problem with the BMC kit for the TFSI is that it just clips on to the original airbox. The airbox is the restriction, so it just adds a restriction onto a restriction!
-
i have fitted the bsh true seal induction kit via dubtek who does them for 150 deliverd...Got to say it sounds very nice not too loud..car seems loads sharper...
-
ok im confused as usual.
i think i need to listen to a few diff intakes and decide which one sounds as i want it to and then decide if its prettttttty enough to go on lol
i want a nice sound without scaring the crap out of the grannies as i drive past them, nor do i wanna be mistoooooken for a old fart chav trying to regain his youth via a flash motor!
i,m trying to get the pod on the 11th to find the right system for me.
thanks for the input sorry to jack the thread.

ok its time for me to ask some dumb newbie questions... sorry!
after some youtube research i think i,m liking the noise more from the evoms and the neuspeed pflo(i think)
what is the blow off valve/diverter valve?#
:ashamed:
do i need?
are they good better/bad for running the car....?
thanks in advance , now i,m goiong to hide in shame at not knowing this stuff.... why havent we got an idiots guide to mods what they are how why what etc. to save me asking these very basic questions and looking worse than i do in real life :sad1:
thanks again

I dont think these you tube vids sound anything like the actual intakes. the evoms sounds good and gives good gains. you cant go wrong with it. if you want sound, any open filter will give you sound.
Blow off valves/diverter valves sound chav from my experience(and of course is just my opinion).
I had the forge spacer on my car for a few months before i removed it, as it was just plain embarrassing having it whooshing like hell even when driving real slow around town. The ITG gave a more classy whoosh, and only when i was 'making progress'which suited me. The D revison Oem diverter valve will be more than up to the job of handling an tuning on the car
-
thanks for the help, i,m thinking im leaning toward the evoms to be honest.
i now gotta source one lol
tecnically, just so i know what do blow off valves/diverter w=valves or forge spacers actually do?? mate?
(( :stupid:hanging his head in shame)
-
bump please :ashamed:
-
They release the boost making a woosh noise instead of recirculating it like a standard dv would.
It would be rather loud with an evoms or similar fitted .
