Title: Install H7 LEDs
Post by: DanMarko on March 03, 2022, 07:43:27 am
Hey members... has anyone installed H7 LEDs to replace the standard Halogens on their Gti (mk5)...?

I've just bought these... https://braumach.com.au/products/braumach-6000k-led-headlight-bulbs-globes-h7-for-volkswagen-golf-gti-hatchback-2005-2009-6517?_pos=1&_sid=2fd144cb5&_ss=r

... but the twist style connector on my main lights doesn't seem to allow these (there's nowhere to plug the power cable in?)

Any ideas?
Cheers, Dan

Generally they require and LED bulb adapter. If you plug the connector into the bulb holder will the bulb not sit on it anymore?

recently my brother had to change his back from h7 led to halogen, the light spread was terrible and these were good ones with their own ballast, if its a led look your after osram cool blue hyper are good, or if you are wanting better light and better look zenons,
the osrams or phillips for that matter dont last long, a year for the headlight, sidelights 6 months as you use them all the time

Thanks for that…. I’ve bought some adaptors which will hopefully work for the low beams… the high beams have the more traditional (metal latch) setup, and I can’t seem to locate any adaptor for this - so considering going to upgraded halogens with led drivers and fogs.

They’re rubbish anyway. I went through this exercise a month or two ago.
