Picked a puncture up and tbh I could do with a set of tyres.
Can get them through the trade so not loads of difference between them all.
Goodyears 5
Goodyears supersports.
Ps4.
Ps5 have just cone out, no Ide what they are like, I'm sure they will be good.
Only road use and occasional spirited drive.

Think Supersports is the fastest tyre out of those lot as a competitor to the PS4S, so would imagine it's noticeably more fun to drive on than the PS4 or new PS5. That would be my choice anyway.

Yeah kind of mine too. Will have a look at how they fare in the wet etc.

Also thinking about cold performance and wether they take a bit to work.
Only that I do a 6 mile to work commute.

I've got PS4 on the rear axle and F1 Supersports on the front axle. The PS4 are very good and you won't be disappointed with them, however, I think the Supersports are a better tyre and when the time comes to replace tyres I'll be running the Supersports on both axles.

Tyre reviews have said they will review Asym 6, PS5 and the new tyre from Continental (maybe PremiumContact 7?) in two weeks. I’m waiting for that.
Not interested in the higher performance versions (SuperSport, PS5S or SportContact) for a road car.
I think Asym 6 and PS5 are already out.

I’ve had PS4 on a few cars but think the Asym 5 is better. Part of the reason why I am waiting for the Tyre Reviews review.

Ps5 £79.08.
Plus vat but I can claim that back.
Not going to be much between them???

I would just sum it up as:
If you want the quickest summer tyre that still does all the other road duties almost as well then get the SS.
If you want a grippy well priced tyre that I believe is known for its wet grip get the Asym 5.
PS4 seems to have more of a following for performance cars over the Asym 5 so maybe this for a more performance orientated every day tyre over the Asym 5.
OR be a trooper/guinea pig and get the untested PS5 which will probably be great and let us know how you get on with it!

Chap at our local tyre place said have you read much about the devanti pro tourer sport tyre. Can't say I have tbh.

They sound interesting... not many places online sell them I see though.

Ended up opting for the asy5's. Was tempted by the ss but for what I need I think the goodyears will be spot on. Will report back.

I absolutely love the SS but it's not for everybody because of the sidewall stiffness. But it's the sidewalls which push it so far ahead of the PS4/4S in the dry :smiley:
That always was my only criticism of the PS4 - soft sidewalls. It washes out far sooner than you'd like in the corners, and quite unexpectedly too.

Very happy with the SS the sidewall is the game changer on the GTI's as the front axel is quite heavy.
I will repeat with another set. On wet are not as good as the PS4 this is for sure, but not dangerous.

On my local roads and speeds, I find the SS to be better than the PS4 in the wet.
The only area the SS falls slightly short of the PS4 is at 0 deg C and lower. The SS does need a bit more heat than the PS4 but as you say, it's not dangerous.

Get the goodyears fitted tomo so will see how they are over the next few weeks

Although it has just been replaced I have been very impressed with the Asym 5 on my car. So much better feel than PS4.

New tyres on. What pressures are people running. Previous tyres were 33 iirc.

I just run what it says on the petrol flap. 36psi I think it is.
