Hey Guys,
When i bought my ED30 last year, the previous owner had fitted Tarox6 Pot calipers a few years before selling the car. The front pads were a tad low, but not in dyer need of replacing. After a few weeks of driving, i started to get brake squeal, hence decided to change the pads for a set of OEM Tarox Corsa OEM pads. Drove the car for around a week, and they started squealing again. My pal who fitted them had applied copper grease prior, but it was driving me nuts, hence i opted to change the front discs for a set of Brembo drilled/grooved discs. These were fitted last Wednesday. All seemed fine.....until today and the cocking squealing has come back. So new discs and pads haven't cured this. I'm wondering if its to do with the wheel cleaner i am using? I use Autoglym non acid cleaner, and on occasions the wheels are also cleaned using Autoglym TFR. I'm also wondering if there is any sort of procedure i need to follow with new discs, as i recall years ago i was told to drive to 60mph then hard on the brakes, and to do that 7-10 times, then a gentle 10-15 min drive to ket the disc cool down?

maybe a caliper is sticking, seems the obvious choice if new pads and discs havent cured it

Sounds like there may still be part of the pad not greased - or - something has changed in the caliper allowing play in the pads.
Please note that copper grease contains metal fragments - it's not good on items requiring tight tolerances such as brakes, better to use a high temperature ceramic grease like Ceratec.

Checked with my pal and he uses that exact grease. Getting brake fluid changed on Thursday, and he's going to re do the pads with the grease too.

Good stuff - maybe contact tarox to see if they can offer any advice

You generally get squeal with fixed 4/6/8/10pot calipers ie Porsche/Audi etc, a lesser aggressive pad may help but it seems you've done that.

Interesting. I’m running 312 OEM size discs as it’s the largest that can go with these calipers. I’ll see how it goes but if it’s not cured I’ll likely swap them out for a set of mk7 Golf r calipers
