Title: Best brakes for mk5 gti?
Post by: Irish_Mk5 on March 28, 2022, 08:16:55 pm
Need to get new pads and discs all round, which are expensive enough for base spec.
What do people recommend to do here?
Stay with Standard or upgrade to something better?

Have you tried doing a search? I just tried but it wasn't working for me...failing that @Pudding (https://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/index.php?action=profile;u=10733) will probably know!

If it’s a standard car then stick with “standard” brakes. The Pagid stuff is good on this generation of VAG cars, and Mintex are decent enough for the budget end.
I know people on here aren’t fans but I usually go for Brembo discs on my cars and I’ve always had good performance from them.

I always opt for brembo discs and then either pagid or mintex pads.

If you want standard OEM, get the ATE pads and discs from EuroCarParts.
