Title: driver door and hatch issues
Post by: Chickensaur on April 12, 2022, 06:03:28 pm
My hatch doesn't open using the button in the driver's door anymore, I've been having to crawl back there and flip the internal latch. Was shakey at the dealer and gave out pretty quickly. Once the hatch is open the MFD registers it, which it doesn't do for my driver side door. Sometimes I gotta turn the key on to unlock my doors, and sometimes I don't. I don't have a fob, just the key. Seems to me like a wiring issue or something going on with the driver's door latch, wondering if anyone here has had a problem like that.
The window switches and gas door button all work fine.

Do the other electrical item in the drivers door work? fuel flap - electric window?

There are microswitches within the locking mechanism that are notorious for failing, this will report the door being open.

Wiring adjacent to hinges in both the drivers door and hatch can also fail, you can get repair kits for these - you can pull back the concertina boot and have a look, hatch is easy to get at, door is tricky with a release latch.
