Title: MK5 GPS - SHARK AERIALS
Post by: Mekaniko on May 29, 2022, 07:46:04 pm
Hi all,

My MK5 have the shark antenna since new but I have seen some last 2008 MK5's with a bigershark antenna that also haves a "normal antenna" on it.

Do you know why? It improves Radio reception? It's nicer the little shark antenna but if it improves reception I would give it a try.

IIRC in the early models, the radio antenna was built into the rear windscreen. The shark fin on the roof was for the GPS antenna alone. I gather due to cost cutting, it was changed to the radio antenna on the roof.
