Hi Guys
Ive just acquired a MK5 GTi and the air con is not working, after going to see a local AC specialist, he immediately checked the pully and mentioned the centre bolt was not spinning.
Two options really from what I can see:
1. New Pump
2. Repair the pulley (after seeing this on youtube -> )
Id like to go down the repairing it, and I can see repair kits on eBay, but unsure on how to check part numbers for VW cars?
Thanks
A

I would imagine there is a part number on the one in situ currently? Might need a brush down to see any text though.
These are a common failure from what I've seen. I even got a shorter belt and took mine out of the system as the pulley was nearly falling off.
Need to get on and fix it though, so hopefully you can show how you get on with it.

Do you happen to have the belt size to hand mate as I'm considering binning my compressor off.

Yes, once I get some time I will jack it and remove the OSF arch liner, hopefully that will show something.
Thanks for the help guys!
