Started getting a little hard to get into 1st and reverse about a month ago, was only happening intermittently, gradually began happening more often and now it affects most gears at low RPMs.
Clutch is just not letting go at all now, can only drive the car by speed matching carefully. No grinding, no noises from clutch/flywheel or gearbox. Stage 1 map for 6 years.
Power bled the system several times, no air in the system. Clutch disc and PP are only 3 months old, DM flywheel is 1 year old, gearbox is a 2nd hand I swapped 7 months ago (GVT) (replaced gearbox oil). I managed to get 1 shim in the end of the gearbox as the early boxes are prone to end float, but it made no difference.
Here is a video with starter removed and pressing on clutch pedal, you can see the slave doing it's job, so slave and master are good.
PP fingers all seem to be fine and bend against the pressure from slave, but I am not sure if the PP should be moving the small amount it appears to? All the bolts are fully seated and loctited.
Clutch and PP are LUK, but DMF is a different brand. Had this flywheel in for a year with no issues, but I guess it could have warped or something?
Appreciate any useful insight before I give in and drop the transmission!

Yeah I was thinking is that PP bending, or moving. It shouldn’t do either. Unfortunately crank walk is another issue on manual box engines, especially with heavy aftermarket clutches and/or if the engine is started with the clutch pedal down.
Maybe do the same test but also measure the crank end float pedal down and pedal up. Sometimes you can’t check end float by levering on the crank pulley.

Well I decided to try get some better angles to look at the PP to see if it was actually moving and it clearly was, just a 1-2mm or so.
Rotated engine by hand and checked the PP bolts, low and behold 3 of 6 had loosened. Re-tightened and starter back on etc, issue is gone!
Drives a dream once again :happy2:
Gonna get some new bolts and swap them out and also get some stronger loctite while doing so.
Thankfully no crank walk! :grin:

Unusual for that to happen but good to know it can be sorted without dropping the gearbox :smiley:
