Title: DSG Gearbox's part numbers
Post by: MrFernze on August 13, 2022, 11:15:53 pm
Hello everyone,

Just a simple question, are the letters after the part code for a DSG gearbox any indentation of a different revision of gearbox, or am I going completly mad? Mine has unfortunatly suffered a crack in the bell housing and im looking to purchase a 2nd hand box. I checked the code 02e301107r, however I have seen many others that have different letter on the end of the part number, such as G. Any help would be appriciated, thanks in advance!

Regards,
MrFernze

Phone any vw dealer and ask for parts then ask the question……any revisions and they should be able to tell you

You can buy any MK5 DSG gearbox for your car. But it must be like for like for example… you have a GTI you must replace with GTI… Diesel DSG for Diesel DSG…they have different gear ratios. If you do find another DSG gearbox for your car you will need to keep the mecatronics ECU from the original to replace the one you buy. Also try get one from a lower mileage car and it’s been serviced. They are expensive to repair…. Clutchpacks etc.
