Title: Damp roof & liner, common?
Post by: deltawing on August 22, 2022, 05:32:02 pm
Any idea where this leak is originating from, maybe from the front window top seal? Under the sagging roof liner is starting to deteriorate, break into a fine dust

Just to double check… the headliner is actually wet and not just collapsed?

Looks an awful lot like mine apart from a sunroof and it was just the heat making the glue deteriorate and sag for me...seems unlikely you would have a leak there tbh as there is just solid metal.

 Thanks just rechecked it, its exactly what you both are saying, the sagging roof liner, had me fooled as its got considerably bigger over time (a month or two)  and i was convinced it was some kind of damp issue

It won’t work unfortunately. It’s only going to get worse. You need to either change the complete headliner or get it reupholstered. I have already submitted posts about my advise on them.

Bugger...well I’ll glue it and then worry a little more another time....mechanicals are at the head of the queue right now...cosmetics can wait if they are more than £5 of glue to fix
