Title: Dual or solid flywheel 1.9 TDi
Post by: Ricky123 on September 05, 2022, 02:50:18 pm
Afternoon…

Lots of conflicting information online about this subject but wondering if anyone on here has first hand experience?

The flywheel on my 1.9tdi mk5 it’s rattling more than a junkie going cold turkey lol, I’m not sure if I should Chuck a solid flywheel in or another dual mass?

It’s currently on 156k miles, standard car at the moment, hardly use it at the moment but will be daily driven soon but i’m also going to stick a decat pipe on it and a stage 1 map.

If I go dual mass then it has to be a full sachs kit at the cost of around £400+ or solid kits can be had for anything from £150+

Any help/recommendations will be greatly appreciated

Cheers

I would stick to a dual mass myself for less vibration and quality driving feel, but then the opinion of single is reliability and more abuse.

Then it also comes down to the way you drive the car (respectfully drive or spank the sh!t out of it all the time) also effects lifespan.
