I think there's a black variant called 'black diamond pearl' so might explain why the colour looks different sometimes.

You got any plans with it? Looks good  :happy2:

Cheers bud not sure yet just enjoying driving it just now. It has powerflex engine mounts and lower arm bushes. Need to see if it has upgraded dog mount when I accelerate in damp in 2nd when it starts to spin there's a lot of judder banging from front not sure if it's just wheel hop but quite annoying lol does it with traction on and off

Stage 1
Title: Re: New here from Scotland
Post by: SANDEGTI on October 07, 2022, 05:00:14 pm
Yeah, I'm stage 1 and have the same thing in the wet, it really struggles for traction especially if it's just rained. Never normally in the dry though.

Decent tyres help. And feed the throttle in gently until the car has enough momentum to mash the pedal down, which helps with wheel hop and one tyre fires.

Eagle F1 SuperSport has been the best tyre for me so far in terms of traction, but when they're worn down to 3mm remaining, the tramlining is unbearable.

Same here, still need to get the backs done though. Not sure what to go with...

It made a massive difference in the summer though, before it was just spinning through every gear. I couldn't even make out the names of them so must have been dodgy  :driver:

It depends on your power and torque goals. You could fit the turbo and nothing else (apart from basic plumbing), even retaining stock injectors.

Looks like the spring has collapsed/snapped. No way the main coils should be touching like that.

That spring looks fubar tbh. I think as per @Pudding (https://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/index.php?action=profile;u=10733) says the coils are all touching bar the bottom turn.

Might be worth taking it to VW (or VW specialist) as it could be from anywhere? Was it in your car somewhere or have you found it on the floor near/under your car?

it's not OEM - at a guess it looks like a bung to block off an opening in the inlet manifold - possibly part of flap delete?

Well been a pricey month left rear wheel bearing went and week later both drivers side ones too just got garage to do the lot of them. Then last night a knock from the front left turned out to be the wishbone poly Bush was toast.
