Evening guys,
Been a while since last posting as recently moved house, so been busy busy.
So on my Eddy, I've the OEM rear parking sensors. Have worked fine, but at the weekend, i put the car in to reverse and rather than the sensors beeping, and the beep getting quicker as an obstacle comes in to range, i'm getting a continuous long beeeeeeeeep and its driving me kin nuts. Any ideas what could have caused this to happen?
Cheers

Indicates a fault -if you have VCDS scan the parking aid module, you may have a sensor or wiring fault.

Thanks bud - Got VCDS so will have a nose tomorrow :congrats:

Hi chaps, hope ya all well and surviving the cold and rain
Did a scan with VCDS and didn't show up any faults with regards to rear parking sensors. Does anyone know the process to specifically check the parking sensors in VCDS as I've poked around but not able to find anything specific??

My car doesn't have parking sensors or I would have plugged it in and had a look how to, quick Google sees that the autoscan doesnt check the parking sensors so you will need to go into the seperate module list.

Thanks bud,
I've stuck a post on the Ross Tech forum asking for advice, so hopefully will get the info from there

Post up your findings here please, always learning. :happy2:

Had this reply -
VCDS can only offer the diagnostics that are built-in to the module firmware, someone with more experience of the parking module may be offer to advice re measuring blocks etc. - but that will need you to post an Auto-Scan so they know what module you have in your Golf.
Have posted my auto scan on to the Ross Tech Forum and have Uwe looking at it once he's online. Will report back once more info has been provided
Cheers

I had a similar issue with my GTI. I had factory fitted rear parking sensors. When it went faulty, I would select reverse and instead of the normal short beep, it would give out a constant high pitched scream, once out of reverse the scream would stop and the parking sensors would not work again until the ignition was cycled. At the time I had OBDeleven and that did give a fault code, but I cant remember which. The issue was resolved by replacing one of the rear sensors. A word of caution, I first replaced with a cheap one from ebay, but the fault came back quite quickly, I then purchased a genuine which cured it completely.

just so you know, with a vcds scan park assist should be displayed like this if working ok :
Address 76: Park Assist Labels: 1K0-919-283.lbl
Part No: 1K0 919 283 A
Component: 22 Einparkhilfe 0101
Shop #: WSC 00000 000 00000
VCID: 2D5AC437B46962E5D8-8078
No fault code found.
So the question should be, are your sensors oem or after market?

I found his thread on Ross tech's forum, https://forums.ross-tech.com/index.php?threads/35253/ his auto scan list doesn't show parking sensors or park assist as it's known in VW land.
Must be aftermarket system?

Thanks buddy - So have done another autoscan, and still no PDC coming up so must be after market. What I have dectecded is that the n/s parking sensor isn't pulsing with ignitiion on and in reverse, hence that must be the culprit. Now I need to find out what the make sensors are as obvs not OEM but I bought the car 2 years ago with them on??
