Hi all,
I bought 2008 Mk5 GTI DSG model with 62000 miles and I've been driving it everyday for the last 3 months.
I did notice earlier on an occasional clicking noise(loud enough to hear from outside) when downshifting from 3rd to 2nd gear as I come to stop.
While I wasn't too worried about it initially, but now I'm noticing a slight delay in shifting 2nd->3rd every so often (compared to 3->4 or 4->5) and just shifting between 2nd and 3rd gear is generally harsher.
When I floor it, 2->3 shift is quite harsh and not as smooth as other gear shifts.
Would DSG service help with this issue? or is this more of a mechatronics unit starting to fail?
Thanks in advance for any advice!

Hi - the basic rule of thumb for our DSG boxes is service every 40k miles - has yours been done 20k miles ago?
-
The previous owner said it's been done by the owner before him but didn't have any proof.
I just don't want to spend $ servicing just to find out later that it needs something else done..

Where are you located? Can get you a DSG service for £100 using genuine oil.
