Title: Idle change

My gt 170 changes from idling at .8 to just under 1k is this normal for it to Change like that?

My Scirocco does the same , usually when its doing or attempting to do a regen of the dpf.

That is what I thought at first but it just does it randomly now I have had the car 2-3 weeks and already done two regens I only did it once on my other that I had for 8 months

Frequent regens = more miles and/or more pedal to the floor action is required  :happy2:

I have to give the TDI a good ragging once a month as the missus dribbles along the road in it, so the EGTs never get hot enough to clean the DPF naturally.

Driving a diesel hard pays off in the long run as DPFs will then last forever.  Town only diesels need DPFs far more frequently because they get clogged up beyond hope!

I do at least 400 miles a week and I assure you I don’t dribble them  :drool: the car is on 268k miles so I guess the person who had it before me cherished it, only info I have is it had a service 3 month ago
