As long as the other car has the same number of doors, then either door or even just the outer door skins are transferable

Just get a door skin off fleabay for like £60. Easy to fit.

been trying nothing close to me at the momment, went to see repair shop he said a complete door best way as the crash bar maybe broken?? no idea what that ment.

Check for yourself the crash bar and make the decision.
Here is the guide on the skin removal

The crash bar if damaged is replaceable as it simply unbolts

Depends how bad the damage is, behind the door skin is a reinfored bar called the crash bar, if this is damaged it can be replaced as it is only a bolt on part, the door skins on mk5 golfs are also removeable, loads of t30 torx bolts so if the door frame is ok you can just replace this.
Jetta and golf estate door skins are different however, they have an additional swage line above the handle and a different shape at the bottom.
