Can anybody confirm the location of the cooling fans fuse? I’ve not got the diagram for the car and various sources reference different fuses.

They're the big chunky bolted down ones at the front of the fuse box.

Cheers. Ye got them working through a VCDS output test. Only the big fan is working though.
My aircon inly blows hot, and really hot, or coolish on LO. Same deal on ECON mode. VCDS seems to be saying the compressor is functioning, no fault codes and had it gassed at Kwik Fit and they confirmed no leaks. I’ve replaced the pressure switch.
I’m wondering if the faulty cooling fan is stopping the air con kicking in; I know some cars won’t let that air con run if the cooling fans aren’t working.

Yeah the small fan failing is common, and it can indeed impact the A/C. I think because the small fan is the one with PWM module in it, so controls the speeds and A/C engagement. I think when you have only the big one working, that relies solely on the radiator temp switch as a failsafe, so doesn't kick until the engine coolant starts to get a bit toasty.
At slower road speeds and idle, you won't get any cold air at all without the fans unfortunately.

OK Great, thanks. That makes perfect sense. Adding it the next job on the car :-D

Is it a case of Genuine fans only, or is there a good aftermarket unit? I've heard the aftermarket ones can be a bit rubbish

If you stick to OEM brands like Mahle, Nissens, Valeo, Hella, VDO etc, you should be fine. I could be wrong, but I think dealers will only sell the entire fan pack, and it will be a good £300+ I reckon. Have a poke around on AutoDoc and see what they've got.
Probably not a bad idea to replace the whole lot to be fair. Saves you going back in there again when the other one fails!

Cheers. Ye I'm upgrading the intercooler so bumper will be off; thinking just replaced the whole lot
