Title: Cost of Change
Post by: Strat on April 03, 2010, 01:24:13 pm

I'm tempted by a Rocco R but i dont really want to get too involved with a dealer if it all turns out too expensive so thought id gauge the cost of change from the wealth of experience here before making any serious enquiries!

From people's experience, can anyone tell me the sort of monthly payments £10,000 on finance would work out at? Iv never used the finance option (largely coz iv only ever bought one car!) so any experience with this would be helpful!

Thanks!  :happy2:

Depends on how what period of time and what monthly repayments you want. A bank loan wouldalmost always work out cheaper than car finance.

Don't be drawn in by headline offers of 6% and the like, most people are going to get double figures when it actually comes to the offer once accepted.

Might be worth looking at a PCP? Beat them down for the lowest possible deposit/APR and bank the money in your current car.

Check this at your dealer but i think VW have a 7.9% offer on PCP for the rocco at the mo.

i aways try to buy my cars out right but if i did nt finance can cost less than bank loans nowadays , pcp s are ok but you cant do nothing to the car mods wise cause basically you are only hiring it , remember too that in the first 5years the value of the car will lose the £ 10 k you lend so monthly payment is cost to own car     just my opinion of corse

I looked into a pcp when I got my car, they wanted 16k, I looked at 3k deposit which initially meant 305quid a month over 3yr, didn't want to pay that and they got it down to 258 a month with no increase in deposit or term lenght! Bought it outright in the end...   :happy2:

Thats what I just did, paid off an expensive other borrowing
