Hello all,
New to the forum here but recent new owner of a MK5 Golf GTi 2007 Manual BWA Engine.
I've had one before years go and loved them. Found one with an immaculate interior but noticed on the drive back temperature will not budge above 70. Unless stationary rises to 90, then drops when driving again.
Did a huge amount fo research and reading on here, main thermostat is replaced. But I just cannot find this inline thermostat!! I've checked every single pipe and it's blowing my mind. Do some just not have an inline? If they don't I have one for sale haha.
Cheers

No inline thermostats on manuals, well there isn't one on my Ed30. Did you fit a genuine thermostat? Even the genuine thermostats are hit and miss, I had a faulty one direct from TPS and didn't have time to go through their warranty process, as car was booked in for mapping, so paid to have another TPS thermostat fitted and that ones better but not perfect. It occasionally dips a little bit and then recovers back to 90⁰. I'll have to book the car in to a VW dealer to have it replaced again under warranty. If you have VCDS you can see when the thermostat opens by monitoring the radiator outlet temp.

No inline ones at all on manuals? Ah I see.
I got an OE off Coverdale so fingers crossed. Snapped the alternator bracket trying to push the spacers back so just goinf to fit a new alternator too DOH!
