I'm sure this has been covered before, but the search isn't working and Google is showing me conflicting information.
Can someone confirm what brake lines I will need for the s3 brake upgrade?
A: standard gti brake lines
B: standard s3 lines
C: custom lines with s3 fitting for caliper and mkv golf fitting on other end
D: none of the above, you're confused time for your nap old man.
Anyone able to confirm 100% for me before I buy things I don't need please?

8P or 8V S3 calipers? If the 8V S3/mk7 golf R calipers then the standard mk5 brake lines work fine.

My understanding is 8P but I'm not 100% because the seller couldn't tell me the origin as he got. Them used and refurbished them, just that they're off an audi.
Pic if it helps: (ignore the GTI badges, that's custom)

your original lines will be fine.
I fitted GTI PP calipers with the OE lines (on a mk6)
if you want you can buy custom braided lines but the jobs more involved

Thanks, I ordered a new set of normal lines anyway to test, and wanted to replace them if I'm working on that.

I've recently done the same as john_o on my MK5 - used the stock line as removing the full line can create a lot of extra work if they don't come loose. Undoing the caliper side is easy however - torque setting 20Nm.
