Hello,
I've had some issues with my LPFP (even though its brand new(TTRS variant)), I have changed the spark plugs, built up fuel pressure, checked fuel pressure in the HPFP, reverted G6 LPFP back to stock OEM, changed LPFP controller. Don't know what else to do, and I cant read the wiring diagrams to save my life. If anyone could help with telling which terminal to test that would be wonderful, as from the wiring diagrams I don't understand where to test the signal from the LPFP to the ECU. Code is below for VCDS. TIA :)
Edit: I have checked literally every VW forum I could find regarding the fix but not many have helped in my circumstance. I will update this accordingly and hopefully if anyone has the same issue, I'll document it similar to my previous posts.

This one could be tricky as not even the Ross Tech wiki has P3089 in it.
Not wanting to teach you to suck eggs, but if we go back to basics..... the engine ECU commands a certain pressure (between 3-6 bar) from the LPFP, depending on load/rpm. It determines that from the low pressure fuel sensor, which is bolted into side of the HPFP.
The sensor on top of the HPFP (the one that always snaps) is the 'thrust sensor' and that manages the high pressure side for the DI injectors, based on feedback from the high pressure fuel sensor, which is the one in the fuel rail.
The ECU communicates with the LPFP controller over CAN, and the HPFP is controlled directly from the engine ECU via High side sensor and thrust sensor.
On top of all that, the LPFP also has a relay and a PWM module. It's all a complete minefield to diagnose.
Most, if not all of the engine sensors share a common 5V reference line. I can see your intake runner flap has a short to ground, so it could be related. A lot of the time with things like this, you fix one thing and it fixes everything else. A lot of the fault codes can be red herrings chasing you down the wrong path.
Diagnosing CAN signals can be fun, not. A scanner with a scope function is normally required, but I can't remember if VCDS has that or not.
There are still some clues there the CAN gateway could be unhappy, or there's a bad wire/connection somewhere in the CAN network as there are some other modules that are unhappy too, like the ABS/Steering, lights, HVAC, door controllers etc.
I hate to say it, but I think it's going to need a lot of end to end continuity testing with a meter :confused: I'm not sure forum assistance will be much help. I think this needs an auto electrician to systematically go through it all as they have access to equipment we don't.

Yeah it's been around 8 months or so, add the 2 years sitting prior to that.
I'll have a look at the HPFP side of things as you mentioned, and test for continuity. Unfortunately VW did not make the wiring insulation very strong and its probably a torn cable or something similar. Hopefully I'll get to it before summer ends :)
The intake runner flap is the delete, common engine code to happen which I'm not really fussed about. I'm just hoping its not a wire that's completely torn in a stupid place, but with my luck it probably is. :grin:

Hey Pudding!
Good news! I looked at the wiring diagram and made notes regarding the fuel pump. Checking everything throughout the network and making sure that I would be besting the wire. Made some small cuts onto the wire that communicates from the module to the ECU for continuity. It all checked out. However, I then checked the ECU pins which was just a random thought and found that the pin was bent from installing the ecu. Don't know how it happened but it did https://imgur.com/a/gIYr3R9 (https://imgur.com/a/gIYr3R9) Bent it back into place and carefully installed the ECU and started the car. :pomppomp: It did not cut out thankfully! :pomppomp:
